Position Details

Requirements:
•    Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to Systems Analysts.
•    Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing IT architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio.
•   Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
•    Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
•    Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
•    Prepare RFPs, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts.
•    Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
•    Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.
•    Work on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that the infrastructure technology being implemented is compatible with the current standards.
•    Prepare and present all necessary infrastructure diagrams, data flows, etc. to the ARB (Architecture Review Board) for any proposed and planned solutions.
•    Review new and existing IT projects, systems designs, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.
•    Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, etc.
•    Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders.
•    Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure.
•    Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure.
•    Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
•    Provide research and development to ensure that the systems infrastructure is well positioned to support current and emerging distributed systems solutions
•    Research and implement open-source products.  Keep up to date with developments in the open-source community.
Who you are:
•    Diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or computer engineering
•    In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems,
•    Design, Deployment & Support of Microsoft Active Directory Services at the Enterprise Level
•    Detail knowledge of Windows Networking Services (DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS, DFSR)
•    Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards.
•    Extensive experience with developing strategic plans
•    Hands-on experience with business requirements analysis
•    Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
•    Excellent technical architecture and technical support
