About Us

Our Information Technology department is seeking a highly motivated and career minded individual to join our team as a Java Development Lead. This position will lead in the definition, development, and documentation of functional specifications, objectives and deliverables on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments. In this role, the Technical Lead will conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.

Position Details

What you will do:

  • 15 years direct experience in Web development and/or programming design and systems management
  • Experience as a Full stack Java Developer working with Java (8+) + Vaadin, Spring Framework + Spring Boot along with React/Angular or other frontend
  • Experience with Mulesoft/WSO2 is an asset
  • Experience with an application rewrite or modernization effort
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and working with microservices
  • Experience using a Git-based code / CI/CD tool like BitBucket
  • Leads teams in the development, implementation, and support of the systems for a best-in-class online experience
  • Understands the systems/applications that his/her team develops technologically/functionally, aligns with a technical roadmap of the Organization, works with the team to continuously inspect the current state, and brings innovative ideas to improve
  • Oversees the scheduling, control, and progress of system design, development, and installation activities
  • Develops trusted and open relationships with key business partners at Manager and Director levels and works closely with and manages vendor partner relationships
  • Coordinates between internal and external resources, ensuring effective communication between all groups and individuals involved in projects

 

Who You Are:

  • Four-year direct experience in Web development and/or programming design and systems management
  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to conduct research into application development issues and products
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging Web technologies and programming languages
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components
  • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
