Position Details

Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Technical Consultant will lead and coordinate regulatory compliance on behalf of Quebec Claims. The Claims Technical Consultant will work with key QC claims stakeholders in supporting and developing process standards to ensure we are meeting AMF and Chad regulations.  This role will also be responsible for developing and facilitating technical training to all new QC Claims adjusters. Key responsibilities will be to investigate and respond to AMF queries, reporting, conducting technical training and operational file reviews. This position participates in projects as needed. This role is an agent for compliance and continuous improvement, thinking creatively to identify issues and resolve challenges. The ideal candidate is a claims expert with a wide range of industry experience, a strong understanding of legislative, provincial regulatory and internal policy requirements, risk management and is passionate about process improvement.

  • Investigate and respond to of all regulator’s queries within specific deadlines provided by the regulators.
  • Collect and review required information from the various internal and external stakeholders (LOBs, IT, HR, Vendors, adjusters, etc.) to prepare clear, consistent and accurate responses to the various regulatory queries.
  • Identify the root cause of non-compliant incidents and in collaboration with the Unit Managers develop and implement corrective measures
  • Continuously work to identify broken processes; develop, recommend, and implement improvements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on AMF training and leverages industry knowledge.
  • Provide AMF Technical training during the mandatory probationary periods for Personal and Commercial Lines trainee adjusters.
  • Coordinate mandatory and optional PDU adjuster trainings within the 24 months cycle regulatory period.
  • Facilitate file reviews submitted by the Ombuds Office to provide a final position on behalf of the Claims Business Unit
  • Create monthly reports from various systems for data analytics such as cycle time, claims disposition, inactive file reviews, and more

 

Who You Are 
•    Post-secondary education completed in a related field
•    Minimum of seven years of Automobile and Property claims handling experience.
•    5a and 5b AMF license is required(Quebec)
•    CIP and/or FCIP designation (asset)
•    Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
•    Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial 
•    Experience working with project timelines and developing critical path objectives
•    Strong Quebec claims technical acumen
