Position Details

The Human Resources Director contributes to the success of the Company by providing leadership in planning, developing, implementing, promoting and evaluating the effectiveness of the Company’s HR strategies, procedures and initiatives. The HR Director oversees day to day HR operations and supports the Vice President, Human Resources to promote a strong associate-oriented culture. Duties include but not limited to:
•    Develop and maintain an associate-oriented culture emphasizing collaboration, innovation, core-driven, leading by example approach
•    Design, develop and execute best-practice initiatives for core HR policies and programs, including succession and career planning, performance appraisals, recruitment, and retention
•    Partner with leadership and management to identify areas of opportunity and implement HR programs needed to meet the short and longer-term growth strategies
•    Provide overall leadership to the HR team with coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to build an effective working relationship
•    Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans to identify internal and external talent and recruiting sources
•    Influence and execute workforce planning activities, organizational design, and alignment of people strategy to business strategy
•    Determine and recommend employee relations practices 
•    Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR function and monitor exposure of the Company 
•    Directs the preparation of information required for compliance with legislation and develops and implements policies accordingly
Who You Are 
•    Must be fully bilingual in French and English
•    7-10 years of experience in human resources with 3-5 years in a managerial level
•    Post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent experience in a related field with CHRA / CHRP
•    Must have advanced understanding of employment law and knowledge of legislation for Quebec and Ontario and other jurisdictions where the Company does business
•    Advanced understanding of best practices in recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, organizational development, associate relations, and policy preparation
•    Advanced leadership and development skills driven by solid interpersonal skills that reflect open and honest communication 
•    Ability to lead change and work in a fast paced and challenging environment
•    High level of personal and professional integrity, discipline and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
•    Can build effective networks, working relationships, and alliances with a broad range of stakeholders
