About the CAA School Safety Patrol program
For almost a century, CAA has advocated for school zone safety in communities.
The CAA School Safety Patrol program is just one way CAA prioritizes community investment and awareness around road safety.
The CAA School Safety Patrol program is a youth-focused road safety and leadership program. It is open to kids (Patrollers) in grades 5 -8 who are trained to keep their peers safe at school crossings and while on school buses. It is run in partnership with police services and bus consortiums who deliver the program to their local schools.
Every year, approximately 20,000 kids approximately 900 schools across 43 school boards take part in the program. For more on the program visit www.caaschoolsafetypatrol.com
What You Will Do
- Build, manage and maintain stakeholder relations in communities in which we operate and to increase School Safety Patrol (SSP) program visibility and participation
- Collaborate with the SSP team, develop plans and execute program and community events, training sessions, workshops, projects and other activities related to the CAA School Safety Patrol program
- In consultation with the SSP team and Unit Manager, provide technical advice to stakeholders and program partners on CAA School Safety patrol program operations, community relations and traffic safety concerns
- Monitor and respond to inquiries generated by the SSP website, including requests for program supplies, incentives, funding and award nominations
- In partnership with Unit Manager, develop operational plans that guide the focus and objectives of community relations programs
- Respond to all Member, stakeholder, and public inquiries about community relations activities in a meaningful and timely manner
- Liaise with CAA SCO's Government Relations team to become familiar with synergies that can impact program partnership opportunities

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Who You Are
- Post-secondary Degree or Diploma
- 3-5 years’ experience in the execution of projects related to community outreach or community programming
- Experience working in education, or a charitable organization/foundation
- Proven track record in building strong relationships and rapport, and understanding of key stakeholder objectives to influence, build persuasive arguments, and gain support to achieve business goals
- Strong project management skills, demonstrated through your ability to assess priorities, and meet deadlines while managing multiple activities and projects
- Team player, fast learner, who takes initiative and is willing to help others
- Strong communication and presentation skills, computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in French is an asset
- Must have a G level driver licence, access to a vehicle, and be willing to travel within all parts of Ontario three to four times per year
