Position Details

We are looking for an enthusiastic  Human Resources Consultant (HRC) to work in close partnership with the business to help develop and execute in-depth people strategies. Our work environment is both unionized and non-unionized.

 

What you will do:

  • Identify relevant trends and best practices to help their business areas position themselves for future challenges and adjust their business and operating models as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategies in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, change management, human capital development, talent management as well as organizational development.
  • Collaborate with other functions within HR on projects that support business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Who you are:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar HR capacity, with a demonstrated focus on recruitment and employee relations.
  • Labour relations experience is a definite asset.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, procedures, practices, relevant legislation, regulations, Labour / Employment law, and collective agreements, to provide consultation, expert advice and guidance to management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and reprioritize tasks in response to unexpected changes in priorities/requests in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the business, up to and including the senior executive.
  • Strongly Preferred: Completion of CHRP/CHRL designation or an equivalent.
