Position Details
What You Will Do
- Plans, assigns, and directs the tasks and activities of technical personnel involved in the analysis, design, and development functions required to build or install software applications.
- Develop development best practices & standards and build governance processes and KPI’s to measure effectiveness.
- Creates a supportive team-oriented work environment that enables team members to develop professionally, and that values quality, customer satisfaction, creativity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Architect Property & Casualty insurance solutions in an API based environment using SOAP/REST, Message Queues, Event Messages & Batch processes
- Manages the daily operations of Property & Casualty insurance related application development teams in support of business operations.
- Partners with business leaders, architects, and other IT leaders and staff to deliver solutions that support business initiatives.
- Helps develop and maintain an application development strategy for the organization.
- Evaluates, installs, configures, and deploys new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications.
- Ensures that all software development and integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, security compliance, and interface specifications.
- Reviews requests for application changes, upgrades, and enhancements to ensure they meet the needs of the business.
- Participates in strategic planning and assist in determining project priorities that meet strategic demands.
- Prepares regular reports for senior-level management to communicate status updates.
- Evaluates and report on how technology may be effectively employed to achieve corporate goals
- Managing day to day interactions with project sponsors and stakeholders on projects scheduling and planning, business requirement gathering and scoping, estimation, development resources planning and allocation through all phases of project life cycle and iteration.
Who You Are
- Nice to have Guidewire Certification at Professional or ACE level
- 10 years minimum java development experience with five years at technical/managerial leadership level.
- 5 years Integration experience using SOAP/REST protocols and Message Queues,
- Nice to have guidewire development experience
- Nice to have guidewire integration experience
- Ability to be hands-on to resolve challenges and issue
- Experience with Agile methodology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Results-oriented and able to work under pressure to deliver projects on time.
