Position Details
What You Will Do
- Ensure the proper design, implementation and deployment of databases in conjunction with the relevant cross functional teams
- Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards
- Work with the application development team to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
- Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of databases
- Document and review database design to ensure optimal database performance, providing analysis and recommended improvement opportunities to management
- Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels
- Configuration planning and installation of mostly MS-SQL databases
- Performance and general health / capacity monitoring and day-to-day database administration duties
- Assist with routine maintenance including database rebuilds/re-indexing/expansion and archiving as needed
- Troubleshoot SQL database/server issues and assist in the resolution of application-related problems
- Provide day-to-day support to production systems as assigned or required
- Administer database security, establish effective security controls, and be primary point of contact for audits
- Other duties as assigned

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Who You Are
- College Diploma or University Degree in the field of computer science
- Minimum 10 years of practical DBA experience with sound working knowledge of database structure, theories, principals and practices
- Advanced knowledge and experience with various MSSQL software installations and database configuration is required and including: Always On Availability Groups, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping and failovers.
- Experience with MSSQL 2019/2022 is a must
- Understanding of and experience with client-server computing and relational database environments
- Experience with Data Management and Data Processing flowcharting techniques
- Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
- Scripting skills Windows server environments
- Strong understanding of all database structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting databases on both Windows and Unix servers
- Hands-on database Tuning and Troubleshooting experience
- Availability to work weekends and after hours on a rotating basis
