Position Details
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Systems Analyst to manage and support our insurance systems (Property & Casualty and Travel Medical Insurance). The role involves ensuring the stability and performance of insurance applications deployed on Linux and Windows servers, with infrastructure utilizing load balancers.
What You Will Do:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in insurance applications and integrated systems.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide timely resolution for incidents and service requests.
- Administer insurance applications using built-in tools and features for configuration, user management, security, batch processing, and system maintenance.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, DevOps and vendor teams to ensure application reliability and performance.
- Execute insurance systems deployments/upgrades and configuration management activities, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance on Linux and Windows servers.
- Oversee and coordinate release management activities, including planning, scheduling, and executing application releases.
- Support network and other IT teams with load balancer setup for traffic management, failover, and high availability for Insurance applications.
- Utilize Pingdom, SCOM, OCI and Datadog for application monitoring, performance analysis, and proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Maintain documentation for support processes, incident resolutions, and system configurations.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours and weekend support as needed.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
- Provide input in application support best practices, process improvements, and technology adoption.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members, and management.
- Able to manage support activities independently and take ownership of deliverables.
- Apply practical experience with Windows/Linux Server, SQL Server, Tomcat, and IIS to support, troubleshoot, and optimize related components in the insurance ecosystem.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience supporting insurance applications in a production environment.
- 5+ years’ experience in managing Java based enterprise applications in a Linux environment as well as .NET applications in Windows environment.
- Excellent shell scripting experience.
- Working knowledge of SQL scripting for application support and automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and incident management processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of insurance business processes.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and containerization.
- ITIL Certified.
