Position Details
What You Will Do:
• Carry out maintenance of CAA Fleet Vehicles according to the organization’s fleet maintenance schedules/requirements including issuance of MPI Safety Certificates as per provincial regulations.
• Make repairs to CAA Fleet Vehicles when breakdowns of the vehicles occur.
• Maintain parts inventory levels at required numbers and order parts from CAA Suppliers as required. As well, ensure control of inventory and tools and ensure they are being used for intended purposes, order new or replacement tools as required. Record usage properly on inventory control forms.
• Maintain accurate CAA Fleet Vehicle Service Records and record related data (items purchase/cost and labor time, is completed and entered on the vehicles in logs on a daily basis.
• As required, repair to member vehicles that have been brought in with damage and authorized by management for repairs.
• Prepare newly purchased vehicles for duty with CCG including building on new tow-truck decks and equipment, and other customization projects.
• Communicate proactively with CAA ERS Fleet Drivers regarding problems they are experiencing with their vehicles.
• Ensure the Fleet Maintenance Facility is open and serviceable for start of morning shifts, including ensuring the grounds and compounds.
• Ensure ERS parking lot have been cleared of snow.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
• Journeyman Mechanic and Automotive Electronic Provincial Certification. An inter-provincial designation is an asset.
• Automotive Service Technician (AST) certification.
• MPIC Vehicle Safety Inspector Certificate.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
