Position Details

 

What you will do:

  • Investigate, evaluate, analyze, negotiate and settle property claims in response to a Catastrophic weather event
  • Evaluate liability, salvage and subrogation exposure and potential
  • Contact and coordinate all parties involved in all stages of the claims process, respond to client complaints and appeals
  • Review and analyze initial losses to ensure file meets assignment criteria, determine proper kind of loss (KOL) reserves based on exposure and authority level
  • Examine claims files handled by Independent Adjusters when required
  • Prepare and maintain various reports on property claims
  • General support and adjudication of non-CAT claims and special projects, as required
  • Assign and communicate with vendors on Xactanalysis.

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Who you are:

  • Previous claims experience in property and/or auto inclusive of technical and coverage issues, management/resolution would be considered an asset.
  • An educational background including relevant post-secondary education complemented by a CIP designation or working towards a CIP designation
  • Working knowledge of Insurance Act and other legislation governing property and casualty insurance claims
  • Strong organizational; decision making and problem solving skillset with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in use of claim operating systems and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Career minded individuals who have demonstrated a progressive career path
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
