Position Details

What You Will Do 

  • Management of both simple and complex incoming and outgoing subrogation files across multiple lines of claims
  • Determines that proper reserves have been established
  • Timely management of activities
  • Ensures immediate and effective responses are provided through written/telephone communication to the following: insureds, third parties, experts
  • Negotiating settlement of various claims, and negotiation plan leading to a reasonable settlement within the authority level, or as authorized by the Recovery Manager
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of the current insurance legislations and legal processes
  • Reviews legal budget for proper file reserving; review legal opinion and strategize with counsel and management for best anticipated outcome.
  • Attend settlement conferences, discoveries, mediations, pretrial or trial
     

 

Who You Are

  • Post-secondary education completed and equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in claims, subrogation or collections
  • CIP/FCIP designation or Collection License an asset
  • Paralegal experience as asset
  • Property Claims Experience is an asset
  • Excellent customer service experience 
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams 
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong negotiations and analytical skills
