Position Details

What You Will Do 

The Commercial Auto Physical Damage Claims Adjuster is responsible for the handling of commercial physical damage claims related to automobiles, taxis, dealerships, rental vehicles, towing services, and driving schools.  The Commercial Auto Physical Damage Claims Adjuster will ensure claims are thoroughly investigated, fairly evaluated, and promptly resolved in accordance with the company guidelines and industry best practices.

  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, settle commercial auto claims of claims of moderate to high complexity
  • Provide a positive and professional experience to policyholders by providing timely contanct, updates and clear explanations.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to gather information and resolve claims efficiently.
  • Timely, accurate reserving in line with corproate protocals and guidelines
  • Direct vendor partners as necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
  • Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials and settlement conferences

Who You Are 

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • CIP or working towards designation
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience handling casualty claims or related experience 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration within the team and its members
  • Ability to work independently while effectively identifying and escalating complex claim matters when appropriate
  • Strong organizational, desk management, decision-making and problem-solving skillset, to deliver proactive and timely resolutions
  • Proficient in interpreting insurance contracts and coverage requirements across various jurisdictions
