Position Details
What You Will Do
The Underwriting Assistant (AB) is responsible for providing administrative support to the Regional Program Manager or Underwriters.
• Mapping all new business and renewals
• Enter required information into SIM, Guidewire, Passport, and Bordereau.
• Issue the policies according to the underwriters' quotation and instructions.
• Issue endorsements in systems where required including terminations and reinstatements on a timely and accurate basis.
• Prepare files for underwriting review and attach all documentation required for underwriting.
• Review and respond to all broker requests on a timely basis.
• Identify problematic issues that may affect service and/or quality and report them to management.
• Provide service as per best practices of the company consistent with national standards and policies.
• Review certificates, losses and other correspondence and refer to underwriter where necessary.
Who You Are
- Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or currently holds or working towards CIP would be an asset
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently
- Strong time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail in a highly structured environment
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
