Position Details

The Underwriting Assistant primarily plays a support role within the underwriting team.

  • Enter data related to insurance policies, endorsements, and cancellations into the company’s systems
  • Prepare and organize files for the daily activities of underwriters
  • Manage the department’s email inbox
  • Verify the accuracy of data: policyholder and/or lienholder (creditor or lessor) information and coverage details
  • Gather relevant transaction information for financial data collection and loss history analysis for underwriting purposes
  • Draft correspondence related to policy information requests
  • Write letters, memos, or reports based on existing text
  • Prepare and send claims reports for all files
  • Issue certificates
  • Confirm financed premiums
  • Work collaboratively by sharing various assignments with colleagues
  • Liaise with external parties as needed

 

Your Profile

  • College diploma or equivalent experience
  • Interest in the CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) program
  • Intermediate-level English proficiency is required in addition to French, as this position involves communicating both orally and in writing with our clients, partners, and other Echelon Insurance Canada teams located across the country on a weekly basis.
