Position Details

What You Will Do 

  • Translate a wide range of documents (memos, presentations, e-mail) as well as manage complex projects of confidential nature from English to French

  • Tailor translated material based on audience and distribution channel

  • Translation of other media (videos, podcasts, web material)

  • Review complex or specialized materials and edit translated material done by outside agencies

  • Proof internally created promotional materials and advertisements; edit for consistency, accuracy, spelling, and grammar

  • Develop and maintain strong internal relationships with key stakeholders 

  • Assist departments in complying with the French language requirements

  • Support Translation Services Manager in updating and maintaining the bilingual terminology data base, glossary, and lexicons

  • Support in planning, scheduling, and monitoring translation projects and ensure deadlines are met

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for Marketing-related translations

  • Responsible for researching evolving best practices in translation and making recommendations on how to improve engagement for our Quebec-based Associates

  • Helping to review and update Echelon’s Intranet with French content

  • Work with the Translation Services Manager to support the planning of internal events to ensure our Quebec audience receives the same experience as other regions

  • Helping to translate event related materials (i.e., invites, presentations, signage, gifts, promotional materials)

  • Support our Translation Services Manager in preparing speakers for events (speaker notes, dry-runs)

Who You Are 

  • University Degree in Translation or related field

  • 3-5 years of corporate translation and event support experience

  • Fluent in French and English

  • Experience working with large scale translation projects and stakeholder management

  • Knowledge of WordPress, CAT tools (MemoQ, Trados, etc.), MS Office, and social media 

  • Previous insurance experience a strong asset

  • Experience translating video subtitles a strong asset

  • Active member of the OTTIAQ an asset
