Position Details

Who you are:

   
⦁    University degree majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Economics with master’s considered an asset.
⦁    CPA, CA, CMA, CGA or US CPA designation
⦁    7+ years of experience managing multiple resources / business units within P&C Insurance industry.
⦁    Knowledge of IFRS17 as it relates to P&C Insurance is a strong asset.
⦁    Knowledge of P&C1 reporting and Insurance regulatory standards is a strong asset.
⦁    Strong analytical skills with clear understanding of complex accounting and financial concepts
⦁    Possess excellent project management skills and the ability to organize and manage large complex projects and multiple priorities.
⦁    Exceptional interpersonal skills including written and oral communication with the ability to communicate data and findings to all senior management levels.

Position details: 

⦁    Lead the Finance team to effectively create budgets, strategic plans, and quarterly forecasts supporting each line of business within the Echelon portfolio.
⦁    Review the submissions and prepare detailed summaries by business unit for management discussions in each cycle.
⦁    Participate in the qualitative and quantitative strategic planning sessions and provide valuable input for profit and revenue target setting.
⦁    Monitor external macro-economic factors and inform management of critical changes in assumptions.
⦁    Provide leadership and direction in the delivery of various Finance deliverables including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end MD&A
⦁    Partner with key stakeholders to drive the development and execution of comprehensive analysis with a focus on KPIs and relevant business drivers to support variance analysis.
⦁    Prepare communications and presentations for senior management and Board describing performance of each business entity.
⦁    Assist with timely data analysis in the measurement and monitoring of key risk and performance indicators.
⦁    Oversee finance projects, business case analysis, and ad-hoc reporting as assigned.
⦁    Manage, coach and mentor a team of high performing analysts, supervisors, and managers.
