Position Details

What You Will Do 

  • The HR Specialist is responsible for the acquisition, development and retention of talent while supporting the HR team with employee relations matters.
  • Effectively manage full cycle recruitment.
  • Source and attract candidates through identifying and using the latest recruitment tools and strategies; identify prospects through networking and other strategies to find qualified candidates.
  • Work collaboratively with  internal and external stakeholders ensuring that the recruiting process runs smoothly.
  • Manage the successful, professional onboarding of new team members.
    Define and promote activities and events to improve employee engagement/satisfaction and build an outstanding corporate culture.
  • Staying up-to-date on latest industry best practices and trends. 
  • Knowledge of HR principles, procedures, practices, relevant legislation, regulations, Labour / Employment law, and collective agreements.
  • Contribute to other human resources related areas as needed.

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Who You Are

• 3+ years of full cycle recruitment experience within the financial industry, property and casualty insurance experience is preferred.
• Exposure to both a corporate Human Resources function and agency environment is preferred.
• Attained or actively working towards the CHRP designation is preferred.
• Post secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration.
• Excellent communication skills and able to build rapport.
• Excellent time-management skills with the ability to handle numerous positions simultaneously, at various stages through-out the recruitment process.
• Good understanding and working knowledge of HR policies and procedures and employee relations.
• Proficient in MS Office and HRIS software.
• Strong understanding of employment legislation.
• Require G license and access to vehicle to travel to recruitment events on an as needed basis
