Position Details

You will play a key role in shaping the success of our projects from initiation to closure. You will skillfully guide projects through their life cycle, ensuring they meet our business objectives and stakeholder expectations. Responsibilities include leading planning efforts and release management for ongoing system maintenance workstreams and other strategic priorities.

What You Will Do

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management, team leads and stakeholders
  • Develop detailed project plans, monitoring and adjusting as necessary to effectively manage project expectations
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an on-going basis
  • Estimate and manage the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Assist in the drafting and submission of budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Monitor and record budget expenses for the project
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities and timelines to appropriate project team members and stakeholders
  • Identify issues and conflicts within the project team, when required and escalate to management
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones, using appropriate tools to track project tasks and deliverables
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, assess change impacts, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans with management
  • Proactively communicate timelines, obstacles, updates, and progress on action items to stakeholders 
  • Working with Management, define project success criteria and disseminate information to leaders, project team and stakeholders 
  • Interface with management to understand critical business objectives to influence initiatives that enhance relationships/value and performance
  • Collaborate or lead discussions on solution delivery with associates
  • Interface with other partners and 3rd-parties, such as Vendors, Professional Associations and Consulting Firms
  • Influence project team to take positive action and accountability for actions and deliverables
  • Build, develop and grow team and business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Summarize performance of project team members to share with their respective leaders
  • Conduct project postmortem and lessons learned with team at project closure, and create recommendation to identify successful and unsuccessful project and team elements

 

Who You Are

  • University degree or college diploma in a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in managing/leading projects 
  • PMP preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with project management software, such as Jira, MS Project
  • Experience in Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance and Guidewire projects preferred
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
  • Experience working with project timelines and development of project critical path
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills
