Position Details
What You Will Do
- Work with team leads and business subject matter experts to develop project initiation documents including business case and project charter
- Lead and manage business analysis activities to collect and document project requirements and scope of work, along with known assumptions, dependencies, and constraints
- Develop key performance indicators, objectives, and key results to measure project benefits realization following project completion
- Identify and initiate business project workstreams required for successful end-to-end implementation and delivery
- Work with business and IT teams to plan and organize projects according to the appropriate agile, waterfall, or hybrid methodology
- Coordinate with corporate communications, training teams, and other business departments to plan organizational change management and operational readiness activities
- Define and sequence activities across all phases of the project life cycle, gather estimates, and secure commitment from business teams on assigned deliverables and milestones
- Monitor project schedule performance against approved baseline, implementing corrective actions to control schedule variance
- Determine project resource allocation and availability across business departments
- Direct and manage daily project activities while providing support and guidance to team members throughout the project
- Track and monitor cost performance against allocated project budget
- Identify all business stakeholders with interest or influence on the project and plan appropriate communication methods
- Provide regular updates to sponsors, stakeholders, and steering committee members on project progress, risks, and issues
- Other duties as assigned
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant project management experience
- Demonstrated project delivery of medium to large project within financial services industry or other fast-paced corporate environment
- Experience with Guidewire insurance software
- Strong proficiency with project planning and collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, Jira, etc.)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Agile certification (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe) an asset
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present in a professional manner to leaders
- High degree of critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong understanding of technology concepts with the ability to effectively convey business needs to technical teams, and translate technical information to business teams
