Position Details
What You Will Do
- Be the subject matter expert for all Provinces regarding processing systems, the portal and our Personal Lines products
- Conduct all aspects of UAT testing as requested, develop the test matrix, maintain work order spreadsheet and report all testing results to the Manager
- Assist in the review of the work orders to ensure that requirements are captured and complete requirements are outlined
- Work with the Manager to work collaboratively with both internal and external customers to resolve rating issues of new business, endorsements, renewals, payment issues and system issues providing direction as required within authority levels
- Perform staff and broker audits as directed by the Manager and the audit plan identifying trends and making recommendations to the Manager
- Deliver training where requested by the Manager to associates for system, procedure and product changes
- Provide the Manager with market intelligence, competitive analysis, product analysis regarding products for all Provinces
- Be the contact person for RSP & GAA and ensure that all reports and error corrections are submitted on a timely basis
- Communicate operational policies, procedures to associates to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
- Back-up Personal Lines underwriting when necessary by underwriting new business, renewals and endorsements
- Back-up other branches for testing and audits as requested
- Handle special assignment/projects as assigned
- Some travel may be required
Who You Are
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Personal Lines Underwriting
- College or University education in a related field is required
- Pursuing CIP designation or have completed FCIP and / or CRM designation
- Strong understanding of insurance policy wordings and the ability to make sound business decisions
- Highly skilled in communication (verbal and written), client service, self-awareness, questioning and listening, time management, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates a high level of business maturity when making decisions
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision
