Position Details
What You Will Do
The Subrogation Specialist is responsible for oversight and handling of Loss Transfer Recoveries/Payouts for automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and recreational vehicle Accident Benefits claims. The claims are of varying complexity and severity. The successful candidate will have a dynamic personality and the ability to excel in a high-performance environment.
- Appropriately identify and pursue Loss Transfer recovery opportunities and reimburse Loss Transfer payouts in timely execution in adherence to Statute of Limitations period.
- Investigate and quantify potential Loss Transfer recovery and reimbursement of Loss Transfer payout using Fault Determination Rules, police report, statements, and any other tools to assist.
- In collaboration with the Accident Benefit/ADR team and management approval, effectively negotiate outstanding Loss Transfer amounts and Fault Determination Rules with Third-Party carrier where applicable.
- Attendance at Pre-Hearings and Private Arbitration Hearings with other team members may be required.
Who You Are
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- CIP designation or working towards a CIP designation
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience handling accident benefits claims or related experience
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skill
- Strong organizational; decision making and problem-solving skillset
- Ability to cross-reference information with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
