Position Details

What You Will Do 

The Vendor Specialist is responsible for overseeing & performance management of multiple claims vendors with varying levels of complexity within the claims department.  Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with our external & internal partners, driving customer service excellence for our clients, controlling costs and mitigating risks. Working alongside Echelon Contracts Manager with the creation and maintenance of contracts with vendors and ensuring appropriate quality assurance oversight within the claims function.  The Vendor specialist will ensure that all aspects of legal and contractual obligations are sufficiently managed.

The Vendor Specialist will collaborate and work with teams within the claims department, compliance, internal and external audit functions, information technology departments and related stakeholders as required.
 

Who You Are 

  • Post-secondary education completed in a related field
  • 2-4 years of direct experience in contract/vendor management and/or procurement related role, preferably in an insurance claims setting (auto, accident benefits, casualty, legal, property etc.)
  • Detailed understanding of contract terms, monitoring activities, and required due diligence & compliance
  • Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team
  • Capable of professionally managing confidential information as well as to adherence to all Company policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate and articulate vendor performance issues and due diligence items to appropriate parties both internally and externally
