Position Details
What You Will Do
- Manage a team of unit managers; recruitment, performance management and day-to-day support of the team.
- Provide leadership, development and coaching to unit managers.
- Ensure compliance with operational policies, procedures, controls and standards.
- Prepare reports for management accurately reflecting claims trends, potential/actual financial exposure, coverage issues and claims and recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with management in activities related to the execution of company strategies, creating target performance objectives that complement these strategies.
- Analyze reports and create action plans to ensure target objectives are met.
- Communicate strategies and production objectives in a relevant and persuasive manner to encourage team commitment and alignment.
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and communicate best practices, conduct process evaluation and identify areas for efficiency gains.
- Ability to travel as required.
Who you are
- Prefer university degree 5 + years experience, CIP designation (an asset) or equivalent industry experience.
- AMF 5a and 5b license required (Quebec)
- 5 to 10 years' experience handling complex automobile, commercial and residential claims
- Leadership: coaching, consulting and mentoring skills
- The incumbent must be bilingual (French and English), as he/she will be communicating with colleagues and customers in other provinces.
- Relevant claims experience, including the management and resolution of technical and warranty issues.
- Working knowledge of the Insurance Act and other legislation governing property and casualty and liability claims.
- Use of claims-related operating systems.
