Position Details

Reporting to the Director, the Auto Physical Damage Image Desk is responsible to build, review and approve estimate assignments. 
•    Build, review and approve incoming photo image-based estimate assignments from policyholders and repair shops.
•    Review of claims details to ensure correct information is recorded on the appraisal.
•    Negotiate costs with repair facilities.
•    Provide advice to the Auto PD adjusters when exceptions are encountered.
•    Upon request, provide total loss vehicle evaluations.
•    Upon request, provide evaluation of stolen and unrecovered vehicles.
•    Support the coordination of internal and external appraisal resources to ensure assignments are dispatched for non-drivable vehicles, in a timely fashion.
•    Confirm applicable coverages and appraisal information is correct and that dispatched assignments include correct vehicle, shop, and policyholder information.
•    Assist with training of internal appraiser Associates by providing guidance and training to newly hired or promoted Associates.
•    Support Auto PD adjusters by being available as a resource to assist with technical auto damage information.
 

 

Who you are 
•    GAA Appraiser Certification (mandatory)
•    Bilingual (French and English fluent written and verbal communication skills).
•    Two years of experience in an insurance appraisal or body shop estimating role.
•    Post-secondary diploma/degree, or industry experience as an equivalent.
•    I-Car courses and/or automotive trades schooling is an asset.
•    Automotive knowledge of vehicle construction, repair and damages analysis skills.
•    Evidence of investigative logic.
•    Evidence of negotiation skills.
