Position Details

Reporting to the Unit Manager, Claims Department, the Intermediate Examiner evaluates and settles commercial property insurance claims.
- Review insurance contract coverages to determine eligibility of claims
- Conduct investigations by collecting claims, establishing loss amounts, negotiating and settling claims, etc.
- Evaluate the possibility of subrogation and make use of it, where appropriate
- Guide and direct external suppliers to ensure efficient claims investigation, control and settlement process.
- Prepare correspondence and submit required reports
- Process payments or denials of payment
- Maintain sufficient reserves 

 

Your profile 
- Claims adjuster's license in personal lines and commercial lines 
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in claims 
- CIP or FCIP designation or in the process of obtaining it is an asset
- Minimum knowledge of English at an intermediate level is required in addition to French, as this position requires oral and written communication with our customers, partners and other Echelon Assurance Canada teams located across Canada.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
